Students in UICB classes adapt obsolete materials and techniques from the once formidable letterpress printing industry to publish literary works and produce artist’s books. These same students push the limits of the latest in digital printing technology to produce their work. Hear how the book past converges with the book present and why a growing number of universities—filled with students who qualify as “digital natives”—are making available hands-on book arts classes to students in art, design, writing, and library and information science.
