4CAST ’15, our annual teaching technologies event will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 in 2520 UCC Conference Center 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM.  This event draws faculty and lecturers together to examine how learning technologies can be leveraged to engage students, make connections between instructors and support staff, and identify educational potential in new technology.

To jump-start Iowa’s spring semester, this year's event will pose the question, “Who’s in Control?  Students as Creators, Collaborators, and ‘Consumers’ in their Education.”  Randy Bass, Vice Provost at Georgetown University and an expert in new media technologies and the scholarship of teaching and learning, will be the keynote speaker.  Bass publishes frequently about higher education today and in the future, and his 2012 article in Educause has launched a number of institutional conversations about teaching and learning.

Early registration is now available for faculty and lecturers.
